Do I have access to UpToDate and the UpToDate mobile app?
Answer
Yes! All TUC Library users have access to UpToDate, including the mobile app. UpToDate requires a special login process. Please follow the directions below.
UpToDate Login Process
- Go to the Library Website à Databases à UpToDate
- Login with your usual Library login method. TouroOne or OpenAthens (for adjuncts without TouroOne credentials).
3. Select your account type for UpToDate and login. IMPORTANT: Once you select one of these login methods, you must continue to access that way. You cannot switch between the OpenAthens login and a UpToDate account login.
Option 1: Sign in with OpenAthens. This will create an UpToDate account through OpenAthens, our off-campus authentication system. If you select this login, you will sign on to the UpToDate app with OpenAthens. Once on the app, select OpenAthens and search for Touro University - California in the institution search box and you should be directed to login with TouroOne.
Option 2: Register Now or login with your existing UpToDate account. This creates an account through UpToDate that can also be used to login to the UpToDate app.
Which one should I choose?
It is up to you and your preference!
Option 1 is easiest for students that do not already have an existing UpToDate account or those that expect to only use UpToDate through the TUC Library.
Option 2 is best for faculty and adjunct faculty that have an existing UpToDate account or anyone who would like to create an account that can be linked to other institutional licenses in the future.
The UpToDate App can be found on the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
Note: You will need to re-verify your UpToDate access every 90 days. To re-verify, simply login from the library website again. This will re-authenticate you as a TUC student or faculty member and reactivate your account.
